Dr. Sanmeet Kaur is Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering Department, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology Patiala, Punjab, India. She has earned her ME (Software Engineering) in 2008 and PhD in 2015 from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology Patiala. She is certified as Ethical Hacker (C|EH) by EC-Council USA. Her areas of interest are Network Security, Machine Learning, Human Computer Interaction, Software Testing and Software Engineering. She has excellent academic records, experience of nearly one decade in teaching Computer Science and demonstrated research experience backed with dissertations and funded research project. She has supervised 19 Master Thesis and currently guiding 3 Master and 4 PhD students. She is passionate to work for the development of technological solutions to improve the quality of life of the masses. She is acting as Co-Principal Investigator for ongoing three years SEED Division of DST funded (INR 17.26 lakhs) research project on Sign Language generation for hearing impaired people. For the successful implementation of this project and benefit of deaf students,she has been working closely with Pingalwara school for Deaf, Amritsar and Deaf and Blind school, Patiala. She has many awards and appreciations in her name. She is a 5 times recipient of Excellence Teaching Award. She has an excellent academic record including Merit in Matric, Honours in Diploma, topper in 2nd Year of Graduation, and Highest CGPA of 9.90 in ME (Software Engineering). She has a rich administrative experience in various departmental activities.

I always want to do research for the benefit of society. I am passionate to continue work for the development of technological solutions to improve the quality of life of the masses. I am supervising Ph.D. students in the area of Security, IoT and Human Computer Interaction. At present, I am working on Automatic Generation of Sign Language from Hindi Text for Communication and Education of Hearing Impaired people.
